About DCYAA

Dyer County Youth Athletic Association (DCYAA) is a Tennessee public-benefit nonprofit corporation founded in May 2026. We serve the youth of Dyer County and the surrounding communities through structured, safe, and transparent athletic programs.

Why DCYAA exists

For years, Dyer County families have asked for a youth athletic organization they can actually trust — one where the money is visible, the coaches are vetted, the equipment is safe, and the kids come first. DCYAA was founded to be that organization.

We feed the Dyer County Choctaws tradition. Athletes who play with DCYAA today are the varsity athletes of tomorrow, and we take that responsibility seriously.

How we operate

DCYAA is governed by five voting officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Operations / PR. Three of those officers hold spending authority, and every single expense — no threshold, no exceptions — requires two-person electronic concurrence before any money moves.

Our officers serve as volunteers. None of them receive financial compensation from DCYAA, and that will never change. The organization’s benefit is to the children it serves.

Standards and compliance

Every coach who steps onto a DCYAA field has:

  • A current background check on file
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • Sport-specific safety certification (USA Football Heads Up for football, USA Cheer Youth Safety for cheer)
  • NFHS Concussion and Heat Illness training

Every athlete who participates has:

  • A current sports physical (TSSAA Preparticipation Physical Evaluation Form)
  • Signed parental consent and emergency treatment authorization
  • Signed concussion acknowledgment (parent and player)
  • A copy of their insurance card on file

All equipment meets or exceeds the upcoming 2027 youth athletic safety regulations.
